~into the woods again~

I don’t like leaving home in the summertime. Summertime travel is, to say it nicely, bratfilled. It’s not that I hate kids, heavens no, I think I was a kid once myself even, it’s OPC that makes me crazy(Other people’s children). Seems like the world of travel is flooded with a newly emerging baby-boom, and in my secluded, protected world  SCREAMING is not something I’m very accustomed to. Don’t know why- really, It’s just me I guess,  I’m sensitive . . .

What’s all this about?
I’m leading up to an explanation of why I take my vacations in the fall.
After school starts, the airline prices come down, and the weather in Northern New York’s Adirondack region is absolutely gorgeous. That’s the time I want to speed back east, to the lovely Lake Bonaparte at the Blue-spruce lodge(shown above) and spend 10 days doing nothing but playing guitar with family, games of Sudoku, and cleaning up after my last and planning my next meal. Apple cider, cool nights, and all the autumn leaves turning colors disney couldn’t imagine. That’s a vacation for me, after all, I spend so much time at the beach these days, staring at the ocean in july hardly seems like a break. No, gimme the fresh cool air just south of  the border- the CANADIAN border.

We leave October 11 and return on the 20th.
